9 - Building Egress

Be it enacted by the County Councillors and County Commissioners here assembled that

THE BOARD OF NEW HAVEN COUNTY ENACTS

Section I - Definitions

1. Egress - Defined as a point of escape or exit including but not limited to the front entrance of a structure.
2. Garage - Defined as an area designated for maintenance or parking apart of the building’s design.
3. Vehicle - Defined as a motorized passenger or utility vehicle.
4. Offender - Defined as an individual who is actively violating the ordinance.

Section II - Text

1. No person shall block a point of egress with their person, vehicle, or object.
2. No person shall prevent another person fearing for their life from exiting a hazardous structure or location.
3. A violation of the ordinance will result in the offender(s) & his/her/their belongings being removed by force.
4. If the offender(s) continue, they shall be cited or arrested for disorderly conduct.

Section III - General Provisions

1. Upon this County Ordnance being published, it shall go into effect immediately. All conflicting Municipal Ordinances & County Ordinances will be declared null and void.
